The scientific review has been published since 1993.
It was renamed in 2017. Its previous name was Visnyk Dnipropetrovs’kogo Universitetу. Serija Movoznavstvo (Messenger of Dnipropetrovsk University). Series: Linguistics, ISSN 2312-2919 (Print) (movoznavstvo.com.ua).
Area and a range of problems: publications of research results concerning topical theoretical and applied problems of General Linguistics and Slavic studies; multiaspect analysis of linguistic phenomena as well as multilevel units of Slavic and West European languages in the context of synchrony and historical perspective; critical reviews of monographs, scientific collections, dictionaries, glossaries, manuals, and study guides; chronicles. Sections, objective, and problematics.
Founder and publisher: Oles Honchar Dnipro National University.
Publication frequency: twice a year (June, December).

The Periodical is in the List of Scientific Professional Editions of Ukraine where the findings of theses for the Degrees of Candidate of Science and PHD are published according to the Order of the MES of Ukraine of 06.03.2015 (with modifications of 04.04.2018, № 326).
Editor-in-chief is Tamara Stepanovna Prystaiko, Doctor of Philology, Professor.
Editorial board involves national and foreign scientists including twelve Doctors of Philology and four Candidates of Science (Philology). Scientists from Belarus, Germany, Poland and Slovakia are the members of the Editorial board.
